I'm a long-time friend of Kim's (though we haven't seen each other in a long time; only on Facebook, I guess!)
Anyhow, I'm a married father of two preteen children (a son and a daughter). Fitness has been a part of my life for a long time, though in my middle age I'm facing certain realities.
My fitness background includes playing semipro football and weight-training (405 pound bench press and 950 pound leg press are personal bests). Later, I suffered a neck injury that required surgery to repair a herniated disc and I turned to distance running in my early forties and discovered I was actually quite good at it (PR: 20:07 5K, 1:37:05 1/2 marathon placing 76th of 1150 runners). Who knew? I would have started 20 years earlier! At some point I worked as a fitness coach and group exercise cycle instructor at the YMCA.
I'll be a contributer with Kim on fitness topics that inspire me (and, hopefully, you as well).
